Pada 27hb Rejab 1421h bersamaan dengan 25hb Oktober 2000, bersempena dengan sambutan Israk Mikraj, satu anugerah masjid takmir telah di adakan di Pusat Persidangan Antarabangsa Berakas.

Pada hari tersebut Balai Ibadat Kampong Sengkarai telah memenangi anugerah masjid takmir dalam kategori surau-surau dan balai ibadat seluroh negara. Sebanyak 4 kategori telah di anugerahkan pada hari tersebut. Kategori Masjid Utama telah di menangi oleh Masjid Jamalul Alam, Kuala Belait, Kategori Masjid Mukim telah di menangi oleh Masjid Kampong Bunut, Kategori Masjid Qariah(Kampung) telah di menangi oleh Masjid Kampong Sungai Hanching, Kategori Surau-surau dan Balai Ibadat di menangi oleh Balai Ibadat Kampong Sengkarai Tutong.

Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Dan Yang Di Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam telah berangkat ke majlis tersebut dan seterusnya berkenan menyampaikan anugerah Masjid Takmir 1421 / 2000.
